NOVAMATIC 2G WHEELHEAD UNIT
Let’s find out more about the wheelhead unit of the precision internal grinding machine NOVAMATIC 2G.
The unit is made up of two overlapping slides mounted partially crosswise, each sliding on a pair of preloaded V roller guideways.
The wheelhead unit is separated from the working area, thereby operating in an environment devoid of contaminants (such as coolants, lubricants as well as grinding sludge) for the sliding surfaces.
The electric wheel spindle housing is directly obtained in the Z axis, ensuring limited space requirements and the utmost rigidity of the unit. The electric wheel spindle housing is positioned directly along the Z-axis, ensuring minimal space requirements and maximum rigidity for the assembly.
WORKHEAD UNIT
Let’s find out more about the workhead unit of NOVAMATIC 2G, the ideal machine for precision internal grinding.
The workhead assembly is upheld by a plate that can be rotated manually, simplifying the process of set-up and tooling change-over.
Roll-shoe centering fixture with an integrated loading and unloading system.
Magnetic drive shoe-centerless system, featuring an integrated automatic loader which guarantees loading and unloading times under 1.5 seconds.
Diaphragm chuck type clamping with jaws that envelop the workpiece. It offers the possibility to mount a diamond ring directly on the workhead for wheel dressing.
DRESSING UNITS
Dressing units of the precision internal grinding machine NOVAMATIC 2G.
SINGLE-POINT DRESSER
The assembly has the capacity to hold one, two, or three single-point diamonds, depending on the profile required for the grinding wheel.

Diamond roll dresser:
The diamond roll dresser is operated by electric or hydraulic driven spindles. Dressing is performed through a plunge system with a profiled roll, or by interpolating the machine axes using a forming roll.
Double-fulcrum rotary dresser:
The objective is to achieve wheel radius profiles with form errors of less than 1µ. The equipment is designed to support a fixed holder for up to three single-point diamonds or an electric spindle with a diamond disk. The dresser holder rotates electrically, driven by an AC motor through a gear reducer and encoder (E axis).
Turbine:
The electric spindle is taylored to dressing CBN wheels using a diamond cup wheel.
